Collection: Nguni Cattle Hides
With a cultural and economic significance dating back to the early 19th century, the Zulu people of Africa bred Nguni cattle for their unique and beautifully colored hides. They were ingrained in their spiritual lives and utilized in traditional ceremonies. Specific hide colors and patterns were used to signify royal guards and different war regiments on battlefields. Today, Nguni cattle are still bred for their beauty and also their importance in South African food production. Color variations can be brindle shades, white, black & white, brown & white, and other exceptional multicolored patterns.
